Matsushima Kaigan Station
The station is full of shops that sell local produce, and seafood restaurants. We hope you will enjoy the taste of the fresh and exquisite seafood dishes.

Yuransen (Pleasure) Cruises
In his famous work “Oku No Hosomichi”, Basho Matsuo has portrayed many of the islands of Matsushima.
You can take a cruise round the Matsushima Bay while admiring the beautiful scenery of the islands, and there are also a return trip between Shiogama Bay and Matsushima. There are also event cruises including lunch.
The Jinomaru course allows you to leisurely go around the islands on a regular large-sized passenger boat, while there are also middle-size and small-sized boats that can be rented out by big and small groups.

This historic building is the oldest Momoyama style building in Tohoku, and was built by Masamune Date.

Zuiganji is a majestic building that truly displays the essence of the Momoyama era. Originally Enpukuji was built in this location during the Heian period. The current building was rebuilt in the Edo period by the Date Masamune

Matsushima Onsen
The hot spring has an inn that overlooks the outstanding scenery across Matsushima bay where numerous small island are scattered throughout. You will have a remarkable experience relaxing in the hot spring while enjoying the breathtaking scenery.

Sendai Umi-no Mori Aquarium
The aquarium opened in July 2015, attracting many tourists every day. The dolphin and sea lion show is one of the top performances in Tohoku. The interaction with the animals is an experience not to be missed!

Mitsui Outlet Park Sendai Port
The outlet park is located next to the Aquarium. Visitors will be able to purchase fashion items, zakka items, sports items at discount prices. Duty free shopping available. A multitude of delicacies can be enjoyed in the many restaurants in the food court.

JR Sendai Station
Apart from inside the station itself, various food stores, folk art craft stores, and other souvenir stores of local produce can be found on the underground floor of the adjacent S-Pal Sendai. The station offers easy access to many other tenant buildings, and one of the largest pedestrian decks in Japan connects the station with the neighboring large-scale buildings and the shopping arcades in front of the station.

Central Shopping Arcade
The shopping district is the largest of its kind in Tohoku, covering the Sendai Asaichi, Ekimae, Honmachi Hapina (“Heartful Amenity Place Interfaced Natural Arcade”) Nakaecho, Chris Road, Marble Road Omachi, Sun Mall Ichiban-cho, Brand-Dome Ichiban-cho, Ichiban-cho Yon-chome. Shops range from those that sell the latest trendy items, duty-free drug stores, department stores with duty-free counters, to historical souvenir shops, traditional tea shops, pottery shops that offer quite an atmosphere. The aspect of the shopping arcades are unique to each street. During August 6th, 7th and 8th all the arcades are decorated with Tanabata ornaments to celebrate the Tanabata Festival. Every December an illumination display event called the “The Sendai Pageant of Starlight” is held on Jozenji-dori and is one of the biggest tourist attractions in the region.
