Yanagawa Tachibana-Tei Ohanapic
Government-designated beauty spot with size of 7,000 tsubo where the history of Tachibana’s residence is still alive. The courtship residences and gardens in Meiji Period are transmitted to the present day. It has a resource center. Visitors can enjoy eel dishes and culinary delicacy from the Ariake Sea.

Yame Kougeikanpic
This is a museum in which Traditional crafts Yame boasts, such as Buddhist altar, paper lantern, stone lantern, and hand-made paper are collected together. You can see exhibits of traditional crafts, demonstration by craft workers, and experience making paper.

Townscape of Yame Fukushima White Wallspic
There remain a lot of merchant houses in Fukushima District of Yame-shi, once the largest town of merchants. The townscape was designated as a traditional architectures preservation district in 2002.

Roadside Station Funagoya Koibotarupic
”Bussankan”, a souvenir hall which directly markets a line-up of local specialty products. This facility was constructed in Chikugo Regional Park, provided with a hot spring bath house where you can enjoy a bath in a day trip, and a free footbath.

Yanagawa Punt Tours
The Punt Tour that is a representative of Yanagawa, is a tourist attraction where you can fully enjoy the history and atmosphere of Yanagawa, by slowing cruising down the river while gazing at the atmospheric townscape and nature. Yanagawa Tachibana-Tei Ohana
The Yanagawa Tachibana-Tei Ohana was the residence of the Tachibana family, a clan of Yanagawa during the Edo period. The Hakushakutei and the garden “Shotoen” that were built in the Meiji era are also preserved as they are, and the “Tachibana- Shi Teien” with the total size of the 7000 tsubo has been designated a place of scenic beauty. The restaurants in the facility also serve the eel dish that is a delicacy of Yanagawa, and local dishes using the fresh produce of the Ariake Sea. The facility can also be used as a hotel or for weddings, and the boat for the bride using the “donko boat” has become a familiar scene in Yanagawa.

Takahashi Shoten
“Yuzusco” is made by turning the special produce of Kyushu, the Yuzu Kosho into a liquid form for easy usage. This is a condiment that can be described as a Japanese style tabasco created by Takahashi Shoten. Please enjoy the taste of Fukuoka that will go with Japanese style, westerns style or Chinese dishes. Seafood from Ariake that has been pickled in sake lees is also a wonderful, delicacy. Highly recommendable as a gift to take back.

Yame Kougeikan
A facility where you will find the traditional art of Yame, such as Buddhist alter, paper lantern, stone lanterns, handmade washi and bamboo works under one roof. You can also experience the demonstrations of the craftsmen and experience making handmade washi. The largest stone lantern in japan is also worth looking.

Townscape of Yame Fukushima White Walls
There still remains beautiful white-wall townscape that makes us recall bygone days when politics and economics flourished in Yame region, a hub in Yame City. As many as 150 Machiya houses doubling a shop, mainly made of earth, are standing side by side along an old public road. With traditional modalities of Edo, Meiji, Taisho and the beginning of Showa eras (1600s - 1930), they have both tinges of a household of merchant and a studio of craftsman.
